LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

The time is almost upon us and this will be my final blog of 2010. So what has the wrestling year brought us? Befuddlement, happiness, an overwhelming urge to get Vince McMahon by the collar, shake him up and scream "What the hell are you doing?!!!" into his face. All of this. But the most important thing the great sport we love has brought us, is change.
Maybe you wouldn't know it from watching wrestling in2010, maybe it has passed you by. But the industry has changed and for the better. The Nexus has taken a leap foward! Wade Barrett has been pushed into the Mian Event scene! Micahel Cole is living up to his potential finally! Daniel Bryan is taking giant leaps to become the greatest British wrestler in history - even though he has a long way to go until he reaches British Bulldog's level! WWE is thinking of reviving Tough Enough! And the Miz is WWE Champion. What a year its been.
Before we move on, I'd like to send out my thoughts and prayers to Dean Malenko who recently suffered a heart attack and current WWE Superstar R-Truth who was recently rushed to hospital with seizures, when enough oxygen wasn't getting to his brain. He'll be out of action for a while. Get well soon guys.
Here I'm going to do a few predictions! Look into my crystak ball and see what we can expect by this time next year.

John Cena

Cena, who stayed away from WWE for a week (like he was ever going to leave), will have a prosperous 2011 and maybe even go on to learn to wrestle. Inevitably he'll be Champion again, sometime before 2011 ends and maybe even that long awaited heel turn will come his way.

Randy Orton

'The Viper' will feu with the Miz until Wrestlemania, when he'll switch brands and capture the World Heavyweight Championship. Sometime in 2011 Orton and The MIz will go on to feud in a champion vs chamipon series whcih will show why they were the right choice to be champions. Until that happens, Orton will continue to put stars over, making their careers.

The Miz

Miz will enjoy a long title reign, lasting until Money In the Bank next year, when he'll drop the title to either Daniel Bryan or maybe Triple H when he finally audanes to return to the ring. Whatever the Miz does after he loses the title, it'll be...AWESOME!!!

The Undertaker

After twenty one years in the sport, the broken down and frequently injured legend will finally retire at Wrestlemania, after a match with either UFC star and former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, John Cena, Triple H or Sheamus.

Nexus

They've been the surprise of 2010. A bunch of rookies who invaded WWE, turned out to be the most popular and original storyline of the year. True, they've been buried in the past few months, and Wade Barrett will be again against John Cena at TLC - but in 2011, I see a resurgance for the Nexus. They'll come back stronger than ever and by this time next year, Wade Barrett will be WWE Champion.

Jack Swagger

The all American American, started off 2010 with a greta streak, winning the Money in the Bank Ladder match and a contract which he cahsed in 2 days later and beat Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship. Swagger wa sa good champ for the short reign, but then was buried in typical WWE fashion. In 2011 Swagger will make his way back up the ladder, maybe winning the Royal Rumble match or even becoming a two time Money in the Bank winner setting up a feud with C.M.Punk.

C.M.Punk

C.M.Punk has spent the last few months out injured. On his return in the new year, the Straight Edged superstar can't hang around, he has to get back in the race and do it fast. Going straight for the WWE Championship. Punk could be the surprise entrant into the Royal Rumble and as Edge did last year, win and go to Wrestlemania to take the gold. The rest of 2011 though, looks bleak for Punk. With management bored and tired of his stale character, it's hard to image them putting the gold him. Maybe a mid card feud will be better for punk with Daniel Bryan. It is there he does his best work.

Rey Mysterio

His never ending feud with Albert Del Rio will continue into Wrestlemania, with Rey taking time out until then. To prolong the feud this is a must. Del Rio is heading for the top, so a win for Mysterio and then to eb attacked and suffer a storyline injury and return at Wrestlemania to exact revenge. He won't get it! Del Rio will defeat Mysterio at Wrestlmania, maybe in a stipulation where Rey losses his mask - on his way to becoming World Heavyweight Champion. The rest of 2011 for Mysterio will see him sidelined with his real life knee injury, which he has put off being operated on for almost a year now.

The Rock

Many said that The Rock would never return to the WWE. I beg to differ. 'The Great One' never got a proper goodbye. He never got a real ending to his career. He never lost, he never won in his final match, he was never pinned. It only seems right that with his movie career going from strangth to strength, the Rock will look to put an ending to his WWE career once and for all. And in 2011 the Rock will seek the spotlight one last time, maybe at Wrestlemania. The perfect goodbye would be against Undertaker at Wrestlemania, maybe for both men. If Vince needs a huge PPV buy for 'Mania 27, then there is no match guarenteed to bring it more than The Rock vs The Undertaker one last time. Add o that the stipulation that this is the Rock's final match and the money and the people will roll in.

Batista

Since leaving WWE early in 2010, Batista set out to make a name and a living on the acting circuit. When that didn't pay off he went into MMA. Batista has been used to living the millionaires lifestyle, something he can't possible hope to keep up, with anything but a WWE salary. What does 2011 hold for Batista? He'll return to WWE, of course he will and probably at 'Mania 27. From there he'll stay. He might be bored of wrestling, but the money says he'll live with it.

TNA

Simply put, by the end of 2011, TNA will either be out of buisness or have dumped Hogan and Bischoff along with Vince Russo and be making their way back into the fight. This needs to happen to ensure their survial. I just hope that they're not to stubborn and don't put a bullet in their own heads. 2011 will be the make it or break it year in TNA. Let's hope it's not the latter.

I could go on forever, but I won't. Now I would like to take the time to give thought and praise on those who left us this year - far too many I think you'll agree: thank you for the memories...

On a happier note, I have finally found 'the one' for me. I know it's not a subject to do with wrestling, but I just want to shout it from the rooftops. She's Khazakstani / Russian, she's beautiful with the kind of beauty that makes you wish you'd never met her because it was easier before. The kind that makes you think of her every day of your life and makes those butterflies thump and pound in your stomach. Her eyes - they make my heart melt, like the last drop of sunlight on the darkest night. I can't imagine my life without her, I want to spend the rest of my life with her. And I love her. Who knows, maybe I'll never see her again, maybe I will. Maybe next year will be my year. I'm in love and I like it!

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year...
